Questions about ForgePress

Can ForgePress open InDesign documents?

ForgePress imports IDML, the interchange format InDesign and Affinity Publisher both export. It can also open editable PDFs.

Is the PDF output suitable for commercial print?

Yes. ForgePress exports PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-4 with true DeviceCMYK colour, embedded fonts and a preflight check.

Which operating systems are supported?

Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), macOS, and Linux (Debian/Ubuntu .deb, AppImage and tarball).

Do I need a graphics card?

An OpenGL-capable GPU is required for the canvas. AI features use your GPU when available (DirectML, CoreML or CUDA) and fall back to the CPU otherwise.
